Using Crosshair X in Halo: The Master Chief Collection
If you're running Halo: MCC with Blind skull on (or pushing through a LASO run on Heroic or Legendary), losing the HUD means losing your crosshair too. Crosshair X overlays a custom reticle on top of the game without touching any game files, anti-cheat safe and Easy Anti-Cheat compatible.
Crosshair X and Halo: MCC Anti-Cheat
The Master Chief Collection uses Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) for matchmade multiplayer modes. Crosshair X is EAC-safe because it operates entirely outside the game, the overlay is rendered through Microsoft's Xbox Game Bar, which 343 Industries has whitelisted as a trusted overlay platform. You can use Crosshair X in single-player campaigns (LASO runs included) and in multiplayer without risking a ban.
Best uses in Halo: MCC
- Blind skull runs (campaign): The Blind skull hides the HUD including the reticle. A Crosshair X overlay puts a precise dot back on screen without breaking the immersion of a "no-HUD" run.
- LASO (Legendary All Skulls On): Same reason, Blind is part of LASO. A small, low-opacity dot crosshair gives you back the precision you need for tight platforming and pistol headshots.
- Theater & clip-making: Theater mode hides the HUD but keeps the camera locked to a player. Overlay a thin crosshair for cinematic clips that still show aim trajectory.
- Forge & custom games: Forge maps without reticle weapons (e.g. fists-only or skull-only modes) get a usable hipfire reticle from the overlay.
