Animated cursor skin
This one plays the entire Bad Apple shadow-art video on your pointer, silhouettes flickering between black and white as you move across the screen. Qibya converted the whole thing into an animated cursor that runs live on your desktop via Mouse X on Steam, and fair warning, the source gif is 183 MB, so weaker PCs will feel it. Anyone who grew up watching that fan animation will get the joke instantly. It is a community-made skin with no official ties to the original creators.
“WARNING ------------ The source file for this gif is 183 MB, it will make your pc struggle. ------------ This is the entire Bad Apple Video. All credits go to the original creators.” (Qibya, on the Workshop)
Use this cursor on your desktop
Get Mouse X on Steam. There’s a free demo, so you can try it first.
Subscribe to this skin on its Workshop page, or find “Bad Apple” in the in-app browser.
Select it in Mouse X and your Windows cursor changes instantly. No hooks, no injection.
Install Mouse X from Steam, then subscribe to the skin on its Workshop page (or inside the app). Mouse X downloads it and you can apply it with one click. No .cur files, no Control Panel digging.
Does it work on Windows 11?
Yes. Mouse X supports Windows 10 and 11, uses very little memory and CPU, and doesn’t hook or inject into games or other apps, so it runs quietly alongside everything else.
Is this cursor free?
The skin itself is free, like everything on the Mouse X Workshop. Mouse X is $2.99 on Steam, and the free demo lets you try custom cursors before buying.
